China Creates an Efficient Process for Blockchain Patent Applications

Posted on Jan 3, 2020

China have continued to improve their guidelines for patent applications of emerging technologies, including blockchain, AI (Artificial Intelligence) and big data. The modified guidelines were announced by NIPA (National Intellectual Property Administration) at the end of 2019, with plans to take effect as of February 2020. A specific guideline to have been amended is for a device and method which improves communication between blockchain nodes, ensuring that privacy data is not leaked. China is taking these steps to strengthen IP protection and create agreeable conditions for patent applications, as the nation recognises the continuous rise of the blockchain industry.
