Global cryptocurrency exchange Binance have donated $1 million in BNB token to the Australia Bushfire Donations project. The charity project has been launched to provide aid for the climate crisis sweeping Australia, with the current bushfire season recorded as the worst in living memory. Helen Hai, Head of The Binance Charity Foundation, has expressed the strong desire to help relief efforts as the creation of the platform was intended to “use technology to help those who need it most”. The bushfires have caused the death of half a billion animals, with tens of billions in damages as firefighters tirelessly attempt to tackle the disaster. CEO Changpeng Zhao has called on the cryptocurrency community to take part in the initiative to support Australia, as donations to the project are the “most direct and effective approach to make an impact”.
